Testimonials

We want to shout our testimonials proudly.

Here is what our valued customers have to say.......

Working within the Hospital Eye Service, the challenge of “well fitting’ spectacles are
constant. I have been in hospital practice for 18years and 32 years in optics overall. I
work within a small team of qualified members who all have a wealth of expertise in
this field.
As qualified Dispensing Opticians we have the protected category of paediatric
dispensing services.
Our patients who range from 6 months of age to approximately 8years can provide a
diverse selection of styles to be kept in stock.
As HES we also encounter children with additional needs which can provide a
plethora of disabilities and challenges for the spectacle wearer and to us providing
dispensing services.
Our young paediatric patients are not mini adults when considering facial
anthropology and historically, a lot of ‘children’s frames are scaled down versions of
adult styles.
We have had a breakthrough over the last few years with manufacturers realising
this and thinking about the facial parameters of our little ones.
We have had the pleasure of working with Exeter Eyewear over the last few years
and having an input into what changes are needed. This not only includes the
changes that happen with bridge development, but also Vertex distance
requirements, length to bend and crest heights. We have also discussed sides
verses straps and values of ‘A and B’ measurements.
A few weeks ago, we had a training session with Rob Barrow from Exeter Eyewear,
and we are now delighted to stock the iPlay and SEEcreatures ranges. Both
ranges have been overwhelmingly successful. Taking into consideration the above
concerns, both ranges of frames fit our patient’s so well and enable us to provide lots
of choice.
Both ranges are inspiring with multiple eye sizes and side lengths, a variety of colour
options and an environmentally friendly box.
Our parents are impressed with the quality and choice of these frames and as the
company invest in their quality, provide replacement frames for the life of the
prescription at a reduced rate of 50% cost, this is a bonus for our families.
I can recommend the practicality, affordability and customer service of the frames
and Exeter Eyewear.

Exeter Eyewear is fast becoming a One Stop Shop for all my Paediatric and Special Needs Dispensing. For the Small Frame Supplement claims I use iPlay with adjustable curl sides, built-up bridges and straps or the new and innovative SeeCreatures with designable modular sets with full-side strap options. For the larger kids that still need pre-modified frames for a Special Facial Supplement fit I still use the larger versions or these or I move on to the Ellivron TR and CLIC ranges with pre-adjustable curl sides or sliding drop ends and a skull-fit. Don't forget they also have 3D printed additions to their frames available to incorporate hearing aids and Alice bands when kids have to wear both spectacles and hearing aids. This is a company that listens to the needs of the Paediatric and Special Needs world and creates entirely new solutions to barriers and gaps that we have in the frame market. As a specialism and passion of mine, I am so grateful to Rob and the team for supporting the modification world through innovation over the years and now giving me products I can customise myself.

In practice the Dispensing Opticians and Manager had been looking for a range of children’s frames which fit well, were comfortable to wear and available in a range of colours that Mini-Me’s would be attracted to.

They were delighted when they saw the See Creatures range!

The frame fitting features match children’s facial characteristics - the low crest ensures the eyes are central in the frame and the large apical radius provides vital support around the bridge of the nose. The frames are injection moulded from Pebax resulting in a lightweight and comfortable finish.
The interior-changeable loop end sides are a hit with the kids as they can select their own mix and match colour choice.  The head-straps are ideal for active kids or those little ones who aren’t keen to wear specs.

One of our first See Creatures dispensing's were to a little tot with Downs Syndrome - they were her first correction and the look on her face was a picture when she realised she could see!

Incredible personal service from SEEcreatures, making sure the measurements were perfect for my 3 month old grandson. Who is still happily wearing it on holiday at 6 months. I would definitely give it 5 stars and highly recommend them.

Thank you

When considering Paediatric dispensing we all know practical and correct fitting is paramount. This means the frame material and designs that are specifically solving each individual fit mean so much to the young wearer. Exeter Eyewear, driven by Rob Barrow, aims to do just that. This isn’t about volume, numbers, targets; this is a project of an enthused individual who has vast experience in modifications, ptosis props and repairs to any frame worthy of his attention. I have dealt with Rob at Spec-Care for 30 years, nothing is beyond this man, he knows frames, he knows frame materials, he listens intently to the presented problem. We’re talking about all round quality here, we’re talking about an ethical attitude to what comes through the door. The Ophthalmic community is fortunate to have suppliers of this ilk - I’m just fortunate I’ll finish before he does…

Comfy bridges and secure fitting frames.
Rob Barrow through his Exeter Eyewear brand are successfully developing frame ranges
covering comfy bridges and secure fitting frames.
Practices are seeing huge leaps and bounds in myopia management, but all is wasted if
the resulting dispense is not perfectly fitted and worn perfectly fitted. Effortlessly firm
spectacle placement is essential for myopia control spectacle lenses to work successfully.
Our early years frames are designed meticulously to fit small faces and incorporate an
ability for advanced additive engineering, for the more challenging subjects. As faces
grow, the designs change, but the need for secure fitting does not. Here we have the
unique and inspired ranges by Exeter Eyewear distributed by Ellivron Optical, featuring
clever adjustable ear fittings combined with the fashionable comfort of skull fit sides.
Engagement with young wearers assists the clinic in a successful dispense. I have to
congratulate Rob on his SeeCreatures range for smaller persons, through involving them
in the colourway’s selection is a great ownership move. Empowering them to show off their
new spectacles. Every success for Rob and Exeter Eyewear working with opticians all
whom really care about well fitted spectacles.
