National Eye Health Week 23.09.2024

Did you know? ?

1 in 5 school children have undiagnosed eyesight problems which can impact on both their educational and social development…that’s 1.6 million children in the UK! [1] ?

80-85% of our learning, cognition and activities ? ⚽ ? is driven by vision, [2] so the quality of a child’s eyesight is vital, especially in early years (0-9 years).

Short-sightedness (myopia) in children is increasingly prevalent (1 in 5 children in 2016) [3] , in part caused by use of screen time on computers and digital devices.

Left uncorrected adult eyesight problems will prevail ❗

We can do something about this…please check back for things you can do in our LinkedIn posts this week ? ?

During the week, I will also be sharing my personal eye health journey from Hospital Eye Service Care to optical business owner ?
